Others may see my work as "darkness & sadness”. My work has a hint of mixed violence and sadness. I create works inspired by everything in my life.
My name is Pisut Srisuwan (25). My friends call me “James”. I’m a photographer based in Bangkok. I graduated at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. I participated in Thailand Photography Contest (2012), L’Officiel Thailand, New Talents Fashion Advertising contest (2013), Nylon Thailand, Your Own Private Issue contest (2013) and I have been working as a photographer at Billboard Thailand & The Hollywood Reporter Thailand.
The first time I got interested in documentary photography, I focused on portraits. I like the diversity in people's emotions. The most interesting thing I find in fashion photography is working with other people: the outcome is this composition of the work of such a diverse set of people. All photographers have rules, perhaps it's just inexplicable: the final image is the identity, the character of the photographer. The emotional, tone of the visual elements, style clothing, hair and makeup, almost everything communicates together.
Each continent has it's own identity in its approach in fashion. Asia's uniqueness is with it's rich multicultural background infused with the modernity of fashion, Asia has rich heritage in its fashion. Each country has her own signature style. Countries like Thailand are known for their silk, which is elaborated and decorated with jewellery in their traditional outfits. In Thailand you can find many contemporary designer who are deeply inspired by this heritage.
So Thailand is multicultural. You can see fashion in everything, like the street fashion at Chatuchak market and Siam area. There are lots of teenage's street fashion things going on by young designers. And you can find the Chinese influence in China Town.
This shoot is inspired by by the stories of the new Asian generation growing up in Chinese families. They return to live in, but now life has changed to the technology age.
I find that most of my inspiration comes from music, cinema and surrealism art, combined with the aptitude for retouching and an interest in in fashion. This became my my style.
I like to find new inspiration to apply to my work. In the future, I will develop and study my craft more.
For this time I focus on expanding my work. In the future, I’m not sure if I will be a famous fashion photographer or not. But now I feel happy while I’m working. One day I hope I can tell everyone that I can do it. I don’t care what anybody thinks. I will do the best in my life, my dream will come truth. That is the ultimate goal of my life.
The secret of success in life is to be ready for your opportunity when it comes.
